That’s what the first blog post said when I signed up. They make it sound so easy!
I have been researching and attending conferences on technology integration for quite some time now. Through this process I realized something…I am not a digital native!! I love Marc Prensky’s book, but it gave me a harsh reality check. I do things online. I’m an IMer, a MySpacer, a Facebooker. I text and surf the web and even do some gaming from time to time. The thing is…I can go without it! One of my coworkers was saying that they just got back from a family vacation where the only internet connection available was dial-up. When they arrived home, her daughter said “I need sleep, but I need the internet. I think I need the internet more.” That’s not me.
So, you may be wondering what a Digital Dabbler is doing starting a blog. Well the main thing that has been holding me back is that I wonder sometimes whether the world is really interested in what I have so say. Seriously, am I interesting enough to post my thoughts and then have someone read them? Well, I’m going to give it a try. Most of what gets posted here will be random ramblings about education, technology, and other musings. That’s pretty much my life and now I’m going to share it.
